Surprising November District Novice Teacher of the Month

 
(December 12, 2025) – Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Leslie Turnage—our November District Novice Teacher of the Month winner! 

Mrs. Turnage teaches 7th Grade ELA at West Harrison Middle School. On Friday, Mrs. Marcy Sherfield from the Huntington Learning Center dropped by the school to surprise her with the exciting news! Mrs. Turnage received a certificate, a $50 gift card, teacher supplies, and balloons. 

“Mrs. Turnage was nominated for New Teacher of the Month because of the strong relationships she has built with her students. She creates a positive, welcoming classroom environment where students feel seen and supported,” said West Harrison Middle School Principal April Daniels.

We are so grateful to have Mrs. Turnage as part of our school community and can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will continue to accomplish. We are so proud of you, Ms. Turnage!
